Genoside Mode

Massacre Mode (also referred to as "Massacre state", "Genocide Mode", or simply "Massacre") is a gameplay element and lore terminology of Mary Skelter: Nightmares.

About[]

Gameplay[]

The blood splatters beneath a combatant's HP and SP shows progress to Massacre Mode. This meter fills up as Marchen are either hit with their elemental weakness or are Overkilled (damage taken exceeds HP by a certain amount). When this happens, each active Blood Maiden can get a splatter added to their meter. Once the meter is full, the maiden enters Massacre Mode at the start of their turn. Massacre Mode grants increased stats, lets characters heal from additional blood splatter, and allows access to a special "Massacre Skill" to turn the tide of battle. Massacre Mode expires after a few turns, the Blood Maiden is KO'ed, or immediately once the battle ends, resetting the Blood Gauge.

Lore[]

Blood Maidens are fueled by the blood of Marchen. The blood tastes strangely intoxicating to them, and enough of it can even send Blood Maidens into a pseudo-frenzy. This "Massacre Mode" is mainly exhibited in increased strength and a reduction in inhibitions or hesitations of the Maiden, making them brash and a little more violent than usual. Any loss of rationale is much less in scale when compared to the dreaded Blood Skelter, but there is something to be said about standing in a Blood Maiden's way when she is in Massacre Mode; Don't.
